<b>The Cursed Queen

Once upon a time, in an ancient land, there lived a powerful
queen. Although there had been many powerful queen amongst
the land, whose beauty sparkled brighter than the glowing sun
itself, there were not many that were truly fearful. For this particular queen was not your average queen, and although she
was also desired by the greatest of men, it was not for the
same reasoning - as this queen was a spider-queen, and her
court? Insects, sparrows, and a wide array of vicious
creature, who are eager to battle mankind.

Traversing even further back in time, before the lands became
known as "Koguryo" and Yuri's family reigned supreme, there
were many royal family that resided within smaller sectors of these lands. The most prominent at the time - was the Geomi family. This family had lived in a beautiful amber-made
palace that had resided upon an island within a northern Koguryian lake. The Geomi family had earned their place
amongst the rich, due to the large amber reserve that they
had been mining on the island. Sadly, like most rich,
eventually their greed would catch up with them.

King Geomi, and his wife, would eventually  give birth to a
baby girl by the name of "Cho". As time passed, and Cho grew into one of the most beautiful women in the land, the Geomi family grew richer and richer. This led to many of the other kings venturing to their land to plea their case for why Cho
should marry into their family. King Geomi, however, was
reluctant to give up his daughter's hand to just anyone.
Unfortunately, desperation would soon hit and the proud King
would make a regrettable decision.

On a dark and stormy night, filled with blood, a mysterious
cloaked figure appeared once more. 'twas on this night that
the miners of the Geomi palace had dug too deep into the
amber cave, uncovering something that had been purposely
buried for many centuries. With one thrust of their pickaxe,
they struck cleanly into a mysterious black rock with strange
inscriptions, unleashing horrors throughout the cave. The
people found within this cave were given a much worse fate
than death, they had been transformed into monsters! And
from within the black rock emerged an entity with one of the
most nefarious aura. This aura took the shape of a man, and
made his way to the palace under a king's guise.

With King Geomi just now hearing of the horrible news, his
greed clouded his mind and he was now desperate to give his daughter's hand away for anything he could, where he had
previously been reluctant. The evil aura, under a guise,
agreed to take her hand and offered to save their lives, but what the king foolishly was unaware of was that their lives
would be completely altered as the evil being transformed everyone in the palace into hideous monsters - including
Cho, who had become one half spider. Cho, who was now filled with sadness, had fallen under spell of the evil aura and
was forced to remain amongst the spider-filled kingdom
forever. The evil aura, now bored, dispersed into the night
sky leaving the Geomi kingdom in ruin.

Now (in present day), as I venture into the spider filled
ruins of Koguryo, I am overwhelmed with a feeling of sadness
and I can hear the subtle whimpers of a kingdom that once was
and the beautiful princess whom unwillingly became the spider
queen of a kingdom that had become monster. On rare occassion, when these monster fall in battle, a brief glimpse of whom
they once were appears and the items they had on person
remain along with the amber they had worked hard to uncover.
I always remember this story, and use it as a lesson, to help fight against the inner urges of greed that spark within
myself. Hopefully one day, the Geomi family will return to
their former glory and peace will be restored.

Until then, a bitter tear shall drop.
